Music. It's one of the greatest things that humans will forever be able to share with one another. It expresses every abstract thought and feeling that cannot be put into one's own words. iTunes will donate up to 5% of all purchases to the Children's Cancer Assocation, a charity committed to transparency with an excellent record of doing the most good with its donations. So how does it work? Just buy any song that you like on iTunes through MyMusicRx.org, and you'll help a kid; it's that easy.

General FAQs

Why would I buy music from MyMusicRx instead of just going to iTunes?

For every song purchased from iTunes through MusicRx, up to 5¢ will go to support the programs of the Children’s Cancer Association.

Who can register for an account?

Any child or teen under the age of 21 who is fighting a long-term or life-threatening illness can create a profile. From cancer, to cystic fibrosis to diabetes, we welcome all youth who would benefit from music medicine

Does it cost me anything to leave a prescription for a kid?

Prescriptions are messages left for kids, or for one of your facebook friends, who could use a little pick-me-up. Prescriptions are related to music, in that you can share a musical thought and/or share a song that inspires you. There is no cost involved to post a message. The Prescription functionality is a facebook app, so you must have a facebook account to leave a prescription.

Why Should I make an Account?

If you are a kid interested in playing with music, creating music, watching videos of your favorite athletes and artists, sharing your story, playlists and photo’s with the public, or are interested in finding other kids who may be going through a similar journey, this is the place for you!

How do I make an account?

Click “Register” in the upper left hand corner of the home page and either fill in all the required fields online, or download the form.
An automatic email notification will be sent to the Children’s Cancer Association once you have completed the form.
Once your profile has been reviewed and approved, it will go live and you can begin creating playlists, uploading photos, updating your status bar and finding friends!

Why does my profile have to be approved before others can view it?

Your profile will be reviewed for inappropriate content prior to going live on the site. Kids under the age of 13 will need parental consent before approval will be granted.

How will I know when my profile has been reviewed and approved?

You will be sent an email notifying you that your profile has been reviewed and approved.

Will my first and last name be featured on my profile?

No. Only your first name will be listed.
